Grand Seiko has the talent to paint idyllic scenery, and the story behind this dial is no exception – it is said to be inspired by the blizzard of the Japanese town Shirojiri (the location of their Shinshu studio). The movement here is the tried and tested 9R66 spring-loaded GMT with 72-hour power reserve. It can be seen through the bottom cover of the exhibition, which has a blue Grand Seiko lion badge, very similar to the hue on the dial.

Grand Seiko did not show signs of a slowdown in the post-Basel world economy, which seems particularly true for its expansion in the US market. In the 2019 haute couture in Las Vegas, GS gave up the exclusive “season” series in the US, which is probably the most popular release of the show. Baselworld Watch & Jewellery Show 2015: Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII

At the 2015 Basel International Watch & Jewellery Show, Bremont launched two new watches designed in collaboration with Jaguar.Bremont JAGUAR MKII WHITE BJ-II/WH/R, The new Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII watches feature a British tradition shared by watches and car brands, reminiscent of the classic Jaguar E-Type of the 1960s.

MKI and MKII are an extension of the six limited editions produced by Bremont last summer. Jaguar produces six hand-made “continuation” E-types, manufactured to the 1964 Young E-Type specifications. Bremont’s special parts are manufactured to complement these vehicles. The new watch is available in unlimited quantities at a more affordable price: the limited edition lightweight watch is made of white gold and aluminum, and the MKI and MKII are made of stainless steel.

The main Jaguar features can be seen on the dials of the MKI (small seconds) and MKII (chronograph). Both watches are designed with Jaguar in response to the dashboard of the car. The railroad minute track for each watch covers only three-quarters of the perimeter to better resemble the E-Type dashboard display. The hands are made of steel, but the minute hand is black at the bottom, just like the counter on the dashboard. Both models have a date window at 6 o’clock. The red sector (3 o’clock below the MKI and the stopwatch small dial on the MKII) represents the “red area” on the E-Type speedometer.

MKI uses the proprietary Bremont BWC / 01-10, automatic 4 Hz movement, power reserve for 50 hours. The MKII uses the BE-50AE, which is also automatic, hitting at 4 Hz and has a 42-hour power reserve. Both watches are COSC-certified chronographs, the same as all Bremont watches.

The case is 43 mm in diameter and 16 mm thick. It is completely stainless steel and the middle part is treated with DLC. The bottom cover, also made of steel, has a sapphire window through which the rotor can be seen, mimicking the E-Type steering wheel.
